1. Overview

GigScout is a browser extension that processes publicly available job listings to generate structured insights such as summaries, skill extraction, and relevance scoring.

The extension communicates with a backend service via secure WebSocket connections to process job-related data in real time.

2. Data We Collect and Process

The extension may transmit the following data:

• Job listing content (title, description, skills, metadata)
• Job context information (budget, duration, engagement type, client information when available)
• The URL of the job listing page currently viewed by the user
• Job identifiers and system-derived references
• JSON-RPC method requests from the extension
• Technical identifiers such as IP address (used for rate limiting, abuse prevention, and service reliability)

Job listings may contain personal data if present in the original source content. This data is processed solely for generating insights.

We do not collect passwords, authentication credentials, or private messaging content.

3. Data Usage

We use the data exclusively for:

• Generating job insights and summaries
• Computing similarity and relevance scoring
• Providing real-time processing via WebSocket API

We do not use the data for advertising or unrelated profiling.

The use of information received from Chrome extension permissions will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including Limited Use requirements.

4. Data Storage and Retention

We store operational and technical data necessary for service functionality, including:

• Request logs (timestamps, method names, status results)
• Processing results (inserted, duplicate, rejected, error)
• Technical identifiers (including IP addresses for abuse prevention)

Log and technical data may be retained for a limited period necessary for debugging, reliability, and abuse prevention, after which it is deleted or anonymized.

5. Infrastructure and Third Parties

Data is processed using infrastructure providers (hosting, networking, compute). These providers process data only to operate the service and do not use it for their own purposes.

We do not sell data or use it for advertising or unrelated profiling.

6. Security

All communication between the extension and backend is performed over secure WebSocket connections (WSS where applicable).
